Spring Activities in New York City

Spring in New York City

Spring is here! It’s time for New Yorkers to shake off those winter blues and enjoy great weather and outdoor events. Spring is the perfect time to visit New York and avoid the rush of summer tourists that hit the city. Whether you just want to have a cup of coffee at an outside cafe, stroll through the parks, take in a NYC street fair, or go to a festival, springtime is the best time to visit.

Central Park
From romantic walks to outdoor activities, there’s no place in NYC quite like Central Park. And April marks the return of Central Park rowboats! It’s not only a romantic date idea, but also a great way to really see Central Park. Bike tours have become another favorite way to explore Central Park. The park is also home to cherry blossoms that usually start to bloom in late March.

Botanical Gardens
Speaking of cherry blossoms, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden offers some of the most impressive examples in the city. The Brooklyn Botanical Garden has 52 acres of plants and flowers displayed in a variety of landscapes located in Mount Prospect Park. For even more nature, the New York Botanical Garden has over one million living plants as part of its extensive collection. The New York Botanical Garden also hosts the annual Orchid Show every year from February through April.

Walking Tours
When the weather is nice, why not take a walk? Walking Tours are an incredible way to see neighborhoods in the spring. From learning about the city’s vibrant history and architecture to fashionable trends, you can find the right walking tour for you. Favorite springtime walking tours include the NYC Fashion Window Walking Tours, Harlem Hip Hop walking tours, and SOHO and Little Italy walking tours.

Baseball Games
Spring is, of course, the perfect time to catch a ballgame in New York City. Take in a Major League Baseball game for the Yankees or Mets! Even if you’re not a baseball fan, it’s always a fun time with great food at Citi Field or Yankee Stadium. Home games begin in February.

Sightseeing Tours
Sightseeing tours are a good way to see the city in spring. Plan tours to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, MoMA, or Ground Zero. Hop-on, Hop-off Bus Tours in NYC may just be the perfect way to see the sights that you want to see, or you can even create your own bus tour this spring. Renting a double decker bus is an incredible chance to enjoy the spring air and the city!
